Andrea是别人眼中的“普娃”，低调、安静，很少在学校的各大活动、舞台以及领奖台上出现，为何她能频频收割名校Offer?

Andrea is generally regarded as a “normal student”since she is quiet and keeps a low profile at school. She seldom participates in school’s events and performs on stage. So why is she so popular in this application season?

Andrea的父母都是早期的英国留学生，从小给Andrea埋下了留学的种子，因此她经常趁着父母出差去旅游，学习古今中外，看遍山水与风土人情。

Andrea’s parents were both students who used to study in the UK in early times. Their previous experience has planted the seeds of studying abroad for Andrea since her young age. She often takes advantage of her parents to travel on business trips while she could also learn the ancient and foreign cultures and enjoy the landscape and different vibes.

Andrea对经济的兴趣，也是旅游的带给她的：“有幸在小时候去过很多地方，听过各种语言，看到过各种货币......当我逐渐长大，我们生活的社会发生了很多重大的变化，例如线上零售业的异军突起对线下消费影响，电子支付代替了纸币等等，这些都燃起了我对经济的热爱。”

Her interests in economics come from these trips: I am fortunate to have visited a number of places, heard a number of languages and seen various kinds of currencies... As I grew up, great changes have taken place in this contemporary society, for example, the emergence of online retail has impacted on physical retail, banknotes have been replaced by electronic payment etc. All these aroused my interest in the economy area.

在2020年暑假，在学校的安排下，Andrea在上海万科进行了专业学习与实习。

In summer 2020, under the arrangement of our school, Andrea started her internships and professional study in Shanghai Vanke group.

"很有幸，我们旁听了上海万科财务部的年会，近距离的接触让我对于职场有了更清晰的认知而不是只是自己的想象，更对于财务部在公司所负责的工作有了些许了解。在利润化的现代社会，品牌认知度、信誉、社会责任等等都是公司做任何决定的影响因素。

我很珍惜这次实习机会，这次经历是我从书本上无法习得的。

“I am extremely lucky to be part of the annual financial conference and this offers me a great opportunity to have a clearer and better understanding of the industry and the position responsibilities of mine rather than my own imagination of all this. I truly cherish this internship which I am unable to learn from books. The group has carefully arranged the contact between other students who are now studying abroad and us, which made us have a more intuitive understanding of economics, finance and other practical work. This book uses examples from people’s daily lives to explain how economics impact in their lives and help better understand the problems encountered from different perspectives. I think this book greatly provides a good initial understanding of the field for us.

《魔鬼经济学》Freakonomics

这本书围绕着“the hidden side of everything”展开，一共分为六个独立的章节。我觉得这本书很好的结合了社会和经济，乍一看甚至会觉得更像是一本关于社会学的书，其中最著名还是对于美国90年代青少年犯罪率下降的研究。这本书提供了一个新鲜的角度来看待社会经济。

This book revolves from “the hidden side of everything” and is divided into six chapters. I consider this book a good combination of the society and economics. At first glance, it might feel more like a book about sociology. One of the most famous chapters is the research of the decline in the rate of juvenile crime in the U.S. in the 1990s. This book offers a fresh perspective on social economy.

Andrea 虽然在很多人眼里是一个“普娃”，但在她自己心中却不止于此，她的努力与经济学天赋，有德英乐职业生涯探索的加持，在名校招生官眼里她是不可多得的人才。

While Andrea is a “normal student” in many people’s eyes, she is way beyond that in her own mind. Both of her efforts and talents in economics and strong career support from SDA make her an outstanding student in admission officers’ eyes.
