在这里学什么？

This Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program will train you to provide focused health care to preterm babies, infants, and children up to 2 years old. You'll learn how to care for neonatal patients in transport, acute care, chronic care, delivery rooms, and outpatient settings.

ODU is proud to have a simulation lab set up as a birthing room that includes a birthing mother, preterm infant and a term infant. We also collaborate with Eastern Virginia Medical School's Standardized Patient Program. It's one of the largest in the U.S. with specialized actors who provide safe practicum experiences to learn and refine clinical skills. You will also complete a clinical practicum in a newborn nursery, or in a level II, III, or IV NICU.

You must travel to ODU's School of Nursing in Virginia Beach for scheduled training and/or testing at certain points in the program.

Careers in Neonatal Nursing

Jobs for NNPs are generally hospital-based, in both academic and community-based settings, and may involve opportunities to participate in ambulance and air transport of neonates, delivery room care, and outpatient follow-up of NICU graduates.
