Why choose this course?

This demanding route is designed to meet the needs of highly motivated graduates, looking to rapidly advance their career within the nursing profession. This course has been closely developed with local Trust partners to reflect the increasing and rapidly changing requirements in patient care provision. The MMHN (PG) will create autonomous nurses with the clinical and leadership skills to synthesise data that will optimise the best possible patient care for people with mental illness.

The course will be split 50% in a clinical practice environment and 50% in academic setting of the University. As well as graduating with a Master’s Degree, upon successful completion you will be apply to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Upon completion of the course, students will be able to practice as a Registered Nurse in the field of Mental Health Nursing.

What happens on the course?

The two year full time course will focus on the acquisition of nursing skills in order to manage safe effective evidence based care to patients, through a range of relevant clinical placements, whilst undertaking the shift patterns of professional nurses. Students will be supported by appropriately qualified and inspirational mentors. This will facilitate the development of nurses that have advanced caring skills and the ability to improve quality and drive health care services.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students who have completed a 4 year Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution and can provide both a bachelor degree certificate and graduation certificate are eligible for entrance onto Master’s degrees: A score of 75% is considered comparable to a UK 2:1; A score of 65% is considered comparable to a UK 2:2; A score of less than 65% is considered comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-masters course. English language requirements vary by course and department but the standard University requirement is 6.0 with 5.5 in every component in IELTS or the same scores in the University’s own entry test, the Wolverhampton English Proficiency Examination (WEPE).
