专业概况

在这里学什么？ In an uncertain and rapidly changing world, a knowledge of economics and the unique insights it offers into how individuals, firms and organisations operate and interact is invaluable. So is the ability to communicate this understanding to specialists and non-specialists. This course combines a thorough grounding in the discipline of economics, with a range of practical skills required in professional life and for postgraduate studies.You will develop your ability to apply economic reasoning to real-world issues. You will become confident in economic and business analysis and in applying these analytical skills to business and organisational decisions, to solving business and economic problems, undertaking research and consultancy, and contributing to the design and implementation of economic policy by government agencies. You will also extend your skills in data gathering and interpretation, quantitative analysis and forecasting, become global in outlook and socially, environmentally and ethically aware.The course will enhance your employability as business analysts or specialist economists, as well as equipping you for careers in management, in an international organisation, in banking, the financial sector more broadly, or the voluntary or public sector.

为来自中国的学生设计 For entry into Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have a recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%. Undergraduate Bachelor's degrees – IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component.
