专业概况

在这里学什么？ At Westminster we train competent linguists in modern languages ready to enter graduate employment. We place particular emphasis on employability and the contemporary cultural context. The course will enable you to achieve a good or high level of linguistic competence in French in all four skill areas (reading, writing, listening and speaking), and demonstrate a good or high degree of proficiency in mediating between French and English.You will be able to function in different cultural situations and acquire the generic qualities and skills of a humanities graduate. You will also gain the transferable and cognitive skills necessary for lifelong personal and professional development.You will study an integrated curriculum with a focus on applied language skills and cultural studies, supported by a rigorous development of your foreign languages skills in all areas.English Language focuses on the relationship between language and non-literary and literary texts, and on the history of the English language and the ways in which it currently varies around the British Isles and the world as a global language. You will develop your understanding of the English language and, at a wider level, the ways in which it reflects and contributes to wider meanings in society. You will also have the opportunity to consider the theoretical tools of both literary analysis and language research in detail.

为来自中国的学生设计 For entry into Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have a recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%. Undergraduate Bachelor's degrees – IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component.
