Professional Development
The Master of Science in Accounting program supports student professional networking through a variety of distinctive events, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with successful and engaged accounting professionals who are interested in your success.
The Accounting Ethics Conference, usually held on the 4th Friday in October, gives you an opportunity to participate in a day-long CPE event attended by 80–100 area professionals working in education, health care, government, industry and not for profit and public accounting.
The Professional Networking Workshop is designed to help you leverage your cutting-edge education into professional and personal success through advice from a panel of experts from the WSCPA. You'll learn how to create effective resumes and personal and professional statements that pop, make the interview process work for you, and lay a foundation for lifelong success by building a network with peers, senior and junior professionals, and external stakeholders such as regulators, legislators, policy makers and more.
The State Capitol Field Trip is a day-long visit to the state capital, Olympia, to visit the offices of the Washington Board of Accountancy, the State Auditor’s Office, the State Legislature and the Office of the Governor for a first-hand look at how the U.S. accounting profession is regulated. You'll hear directly from external stakeholders in regulatory, legislative and policy circles, getting their perspective on the accounting profession and what the public expects from the profession.
