专业概况

在这里学什么？

The 63-credit-hour program is typically finished in six quarters of coursework (2 years). It begins in autumn quarter and requires on-site attendance for the majority of the program. You and your peers will move through the core requirements together. Faculty and staff will help you make important connections with partner departments and public health agencies. Our MPH program is designed to provide you with competency across a wide range of knowledge, skills, and activities that will prepare you for a career in epidemiologic practice and research.

Core MPH Curriculum

MPH students will take a set of core foundational courses during the first year of the program:

Autumn:

PHI 511, Foundations of Public Health (3 CR) PHI 512, Analytic Skills for Public Health I (7 CR)

Winter

PHI 513, Analytic Skills for Public Health II (3 CR) PHI 514, Determinants of Health (3 CR)

Spring

PHI 515, Implementing Public Health Interventions (4 CR) PHI 516, Public Health Practice (3 CR)

Core Epi Curriculum

In addition to the MPH core requirements, Epi MPH students will be required to take a set of additional Epi and Biostatistics courses.

EPI 513, Epidemiologic Methods II (4 CR) EPI 510, Epidemiologic Data Analysis (3 CR) EPI 514, Application of Epidemiologic Methods (5 CR) BIOST 512, Medical Biometry II (4 CR) BIOST 513, Medical Biometry III (4 CR)

MPH students gain public health practice experience through a Practicum with a public health organization. A faculty mentored master’s thesis rounds out the program giving you experience in developing, leading, and executing a research project.

为来自中国的学生设计 Prospective graduate students must meet the following minimum requirements: Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S.1or its equivalent from a foreign institution; Have earned at least a 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4 point scale) for the last 90 graded quarter credits or 60 graded semester credits. Other English Language Requirements: 580 paper-based TOEFL.
