With a global struggle to deliver effective health and care interventions, digital technologies have the potential to drive significant efficiencies in health care delivery by improving access, impact and cost-effectiveness and there is a known gap in educational provision to realise this. This MSc aims to address these gaps by preparing students from a range of backgrounds to address key challenges for digital health intervention development, evaluation and implementation.

WHY THIS PROGRAMME

• The only UK masters course to explicitly focus on digital health interventions allowing for a closer examination of all stages of intervention development, with a strong emphasis on underpinning theory, stakeholder engagement, ethics and evaluation.
• You will be well placed to assume positions in one of the fastest growing economic sectors globally, where a recognised skills gap currently limits progress.
• Be taught by leading academics with experience of developing and researching digital health interventions.
• Varied and innovative methods of assessments will build your confidence and employability.
• Guest lectures from industry, healthcare and patient representatives will enhance your learning experience.
• Choose between a research project and an internship for your end of year 60 credit project.

Students will also achieve PgCert and PgDip exit awards during this course.

CAREER PROSPECTS

This MSc will prepare you for a variety of positions across health and care, software development, third sector, policy and academic settings, both in the UK and internationally.

A strong focus on the theoretical underpinning of interventions development, aligned with an emphasis on research skills and the ethical development and implementation of interventions will make graduates, like yourself, attractive to potential employers.

Further enhancing employability, you will gain valuable experience throughout the course in communicating your work using a range of written, oral and digital skills.
