Overview

This programme covers core modules ranging from practical, theoretical work and continuous assessment. Students will be able to demonstrate responsibility for managing their learning by evaluating their own progress and making autonomous decisions. They will also be able to communicate verbal and visual ideas effectively and professionally.

Programme aims and objectives:

• To equip students with the essential professional, creative, intellectual and technical skills in order to work successfully within the profession of graphic design and related areas of employment;

• To introduce students to the practice of research and the analysis of information, the formation of sound independent judgments through reflection and evaluation and the presentation of well-reasoned arguments;

• To develop students of distinctive personal visual skills and personal vision encouraged through exciting and challenging practical and theoretical projects during the course of the programme;

• To encourage students to take their place in the world as an individual, fully aware of the roles and responsibilities of professional design practice and the ability to contextualize design within global, social and cultural frameworks.

Professional body recognition

First City UC will pay for the student membership subscription to the Graphic Design Association Malaysia (wREGA). Student has the opportunity to keep abreast with developments in the industry.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Malaysian STPM - Minimum 2Cs with credit in Mathematics at SPM or its equivalent, UEC - Minimum 5Bs (including English and Mathematics), GCE A-Level - Minimum 2Es with 5 credits in GCE O Level / SPM (including English and Mathematics), Foundation Matriculation - Pass with minimum CGPA 2.0 with credit in Mathematics in SPM or its equivalent, Diploma - Pass minimum CGPA 2.5 with a credit in Mathematics in SPM or its equivalent. Other equivalent qualifications which are recognized by the Malaysian government.
