The online UW Master of Science in Applied & Computational Mathematics is a versatile degree with a wide range of applications. Our graduates go on to careers in fields such as actuarial science, data science, computer science and engineering.

Curriculum

Program courses give you a working knowledge of several areas of applied mathematics, building your knowledge and competence in computation, quantitative analysis and communication.

Mathematical methods: applied analysis, asymptotics, dynamics, optimization

Numerical analysis and scientific computing

Climate modeling: atmospheric dynamics, global warming

Program Format

You can complete your master’s degree in three quarters of full-time study or choose to attend part-time and finish in two to three years.

为来自中国的学生设计 Prospective graduate students must meet the following minimum requirements: Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S.1or its equivalent from a foreign institution; Have earned at least a 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4 point scale) for the last 90 graded quarter credits or 60 graded semester credits. Other English Language Requirements: 580 paper-based TOEFL.
