As you seek to make a greater impact on the nursing profession, consider enrolling in UA's online MSN program which can make advancing your education affordable and attainable. The program is accredited and features faculty who are known nationwide for their contributions to the field.
UA currently offers the following program options:
Case Manager -
As a case manager, you will work closely with patients and their families to develop a long-term healthcare plan that considers their preferences and goals.
Typically, case managers work with patients diagnosed with one type of disease like HIV/AIDs or cancer, or they work with patients in a specific age group such as children or the elderly. This program prepares you to assume leadership positions in healthcare administration and to coordinate and administer case management services at the macrosystems level.
As one of the only case management programs in the Southeast, UA's Capstone College of Nursing is committed to helping nurses advance their careers. The MSN Case Manager concentration is offered online to accommodate demanding work schedules.
Clinical Nurse Leader -
As a Clinical Nurse Leader, you will function as part of an interdisciplinary team that communicates, plans and implements care directly with other healthcare professionals.
The CNL is a master's prepared generalist, accountable for clinical and healthcare environmental outcomes. You will function at the microsystem level; oversee care coordination of a distinct group of patients; serve as a resource for clinical decision making and also as a lateral integrator of care.
The CNL puts evidence-based practice into action, collects and evaluates patient outcomes, assesses cohort risk, and has the decision-making authority to change care plans when necessary.
Nurse Administrator -
As a Nurse Administrator, you will concentrate primarily on policy and organizational operations issues, such as nursing shortages, and spend your time meeting with other key healthcare professionals, preparing reports, and developing programs and policies to ensure safety and high-quality nursing care.
Nurse administrators hold a variety of executive-level positions, such as director of nursing services, clinical coordinator and chief nurse executive. They often oversee several departments and report directly to senior leadership.
