The Department of Biological Sciences is one of the largest and most active departments at UIC. The department offers undergraduate opportunities in all major areas of biology, including molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, neuroscience, ecology, and evolution. Our program emphasizes original research and prepares students for careers in research and teaching. Cutting-edge faculty and student research spans the discipline of biology, including biodiversity, cell biology, development, evolution, structural biology, restoration and community ecology, synaptic function, and circuitry for sensorimotor integration.

English language requirements: TOEFL iBT score 80; TOEFL PBT score 550; IELTS Academic overall score 6.5; Listening, Writing, Reading, Speaking score 6; PTE Academic overall score 54 Listening 47, Writing 56, Reading 51, Speaking 53.
